Supporting Children & Youth
Older adults are an underutilized resource for young people. They can offer time, knowledge and experience to help children and youth develop the skills they need to succeed. Through our programs, older adults serve in a variety of roles designed to increase early literacy, promote positive youth development, combat childhood obesity, and enhance the math and science skills of middle school youth.
Family Friends - supporting children with special needs through in-home support, respite trips, and social work services
Five & Fit - mobilizing older adults from the community to fight early childhood obesity
GEARUP - helping low-income students in middle school prepare to enter and succeed in 2-year and 4-year colleges
Grandma's Kids - providing after-school enrichment and social services to children living with non-biological caregivers
